My older Toyota Camry uses a plain metal key with no buttons. Is it just a basic copy?
If the Camry was built after 1999, no. The plastic head contains a glass RFID chip. Without telling the ECM to accept that chip, the car will crank but won't start. We cut the blade and handle the chip handshake in the same visit.
