Ask for credentials that match the actual business, technician, location, and proposed work. Verify current documents before relying on a general claim.
Match the record to the provider
Before arranging work, ask for the legal business name and the name used on the quote and invoice. If a license or registration is required for the location or scope, request its number and issuing authority. Check that the record belongs to the provider carrying out the job and is current for the proposed work.
The DC Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection provides business and professional verification services. A business registration and a trade-specific qualification answer different questions, so avoid treating one as proof of the other.
For work in Maryland, use the Maryland Locksmiths Licensing Program and its public query. Maryland’s licensing FAQ explains how to check a business license and employees registered under it. Requirements should be checked for the actual job location.
Verify training separately
Ask who issued a claimed technical credential, which person holds it, and what work it covers. Product familiarity, attendance at training, professional certification, and authorized-dealer status are different things. A brand name on a service page does not establish all of them.
This page does not list verified license numbers, personal certifications, or security clearances for DC Local Locksmith. Request the documents needed for your job directly and verify them before proceeding. Do not send private identity or clearance information through the public contact form.
Give restricted-site requirements to the right person
For institutional work, the facility’s responsible officer should define contractor access, required qualifications, approved hardware, and acceptance procedures. A product’s compliance claim does not establish a contractor’s authorization to enter the facility.
See insurance documentation for related questions, or contact the team about the scope and records your project requires.
